I offer water-based eco-friendly screen printing services from my studio in Rockland, Maine. As a water-based, non-commercial shop my print capabilities are limited to one-color designs, and dark inks on light garments look best due to the soft *eco-friendly inks that I use. About Claire
In the summer of 2011 I taught myself to screen print and launched Fox Island Printworks, a graphic apparel brand and printshop located on North Haven, Island. After selling that business in 2017, going to grad school and moving to the mainland I find myself 10 years later, excited to be back in a printshop. Delighted to once again get my hands and little white dog covered in ink whlie making things for myself and local bands and businesses.

More on Water-based ink:
Water-based ink is durable, has a soft hand and contains no PVC’s or other harmful chemicals. The feel of the ink is more natural because the fibers are penetrated with a dye, as opposed to being coated with plastic. Unlike conventional print shops the only solvent we need to clean our screens after printing is water. And a properly cured water-based ink will gradually fade with time, but not crack or peel like traditional inks.
